very small and good results…
This little skimmer runs very quietly, and is very easy to clean which is nice, because really who likes cleaning out their protein skimmer. You can hang it on the back of your tank, and it easily adjusts to suit your current water level. Once it is set up you just need to monitor your water level, so it does not go below the Minimum Water level mark just like any other skimmer. It has an overflow protection on it so it will not spill out on your floor if the collection cup gets full. I have not tested this however, as I modified mine so it self-drains. The collection cup is pretty small and fills up quickly which is why I modified it to self-drain into a gallon jug.
It is nice and sleek, although it says it’s for tanks 50-80 gallons, I do believe (just from experience) that this would be too small for such tanks. I currently have it mounted in the sump of my 20-gallon long tank, and it is constantly filling up, so i do not believe it would keep up with a larger bio-load in a larger tank. But I must admit, it is working much better than the one it replaced that was much bigger than this little one so I may be wrong.
All in all, this is a very nice little skimmer for its price point. It works like a champ!
I got this skimmer for our 30 gallon saltwater tank. So far, I have had great water quality with zero issues. I have noticed that my corals are actually looking healthier and are growing faster than before. The size of this skimmer fits well on my tank, without compromising space. The system runs quietly and does not disturb me at all. Assembly was relatively easy, and the instructions were clear. I recommend this product to anyone with a midsized tank!
Works well just overflows through the whole on the top and that’s at the lowest setting. I compensate by putting a towel on it which makes it ugly. Other than that it works well. No bubbles on the video because it’s unplugged for a water change coming.
