Installation Instructions
This works, but it’s pretty complicated for such a basic use. The pump is very heavy, making it hard to use, especially in smaller spaces. I struggled getting it put together at first as the directions aren’t very clear. I have small tanks and this is just too big. If you have VERY large tanks, this would be a good item but for average to small tanks and for folks just looking to maintain their pet tank, this is probably overkill.
Well I’m completely new to the whole fish world, I thought this would make things easier but I’m not so sure. For someone new the instructions weren’t that great, or maybe it was just me, but they’re not very explanatory. I guess in the end this makes it easier then having to dump the tank.
I’ve gotten back into the aquarium hobby in the last year and didn’t want to go any bigger than a 20 gallon long, partially because of the hassle of water changes on a bigger tank. This thing is great. While my tank is small enough for me to change water by the cup (I’m not the biggest fan of the cheap, plastic siphons) this makes things much easier. The ability to refill the tank using this is a gamechanger. I’ve wanted to upgrade my tank maintenance for a bit now and I definitely did that. I’m hoping the motor lasts a long time.

This vacuum is great for doing water changing because I do not have a sink near my tanks, so I use buckets. With this vacuum I just allow the water to siphon into the buckets with ease. I had planned to buy one with a long hose to reach my sink but now I’m glad I found this instead. This worked great for cleaning the gunk in the gravel. It surely made my life easier!
