I have a fkuval FX gravel vac, but wanted something that didn’t refilter and would allow cleaning and draining of tank for water changes. I saw this cleaner on another forum and figured I would give it a shot. Works really well and is very powerful. Light weight and many attachments for different uses. It works well.

  2. Kimberly Fisher

I disklike the bag it came with. It filled up quick. The bag is so thick that not much passes through which is good but the bag keeps popping off.

  3. Brent

This gravel vac has several configurations and different ways to use it. What I found most useful in my setups are the vacuum and pump attachments. There are some other attachments that would be best suited for a bare bottom tank (which I don¡¯t have).

    Gravel Vac:
The gravel vac worked great on my substrate that is ¡°pea gravel¡± but I didn¡¯t use it on my sand bedded tanks as the sand grains are too small and would get sucked up into the pump motor. If you have a gravel bed, this should work great for you to do a good vacuuming. There is a sponge inside the vacuum attachment however I found that it worked really well without it. The diameter of my old vac is a bit wider and I found that the Hygger vacuum fit in between rocks, driftwood, etc much better. Also, the bag that the vacuum discharges into tended to fall off after much use but a rubber band held it on great!

I also found that the pump attachment was very handy. It allows the handle to sit upright on a small base. I have emptied a 55g and a 29g tank – both extremely quickly and have also used it to speed up water changes. The included hose although long enough to reach a bucket, was not long enough to reach a drain however I found that my manual siphon hose attaches to the Hygger which allows me to reach my drains.

    A few words of caution…
First, when you¡¯re done and remove it from the tank, regardless of which attachment you¡¯re using, be prepared to have a bucket close by to put it in as it will leak water out of it. I hold it above my tank to let it drain and then put it immediately into a bucket.

Second, if you¡¯re using this for water changes, remember the pump sits at the BOTTOM of the tank. It¡¯s really easy to empty your tank completely if you¡¯re not paying attention!

I¡¯ve used a couple battery operated gravel vacs and I was never happy Witt their power. This one plugs into the wall and is much stronger!

Overall, this gravel vac works very well for my purposes in the fish room.

  4. Scott Pugh

It took a little bit to get an idea of how everything worked but once you get past that it’s great.

  5. Michael Killian

Great suction power, until the sand cleaning attachment sponge filter gets full of fish waist. Then I just pull it out and clean it and go back to cleaning the sand. Still is faster than a manual syphone.

  6. soblue

  7. Jared N

This device, once assembled, is much bigger than you might think. Bowl and probably most nano tanks need not apply. The head is just too big to navigate around without destroying everything. Probably ok for a 10gal+ that isn’t heavily planted.

  8. Judita

Overall it was easy to assemble and use. The cord is long enough (in my case) and there’s no need for an extension cord. The length of vacuum cleaner is okay with our 55 gal aquarium. Those are the plus points for me. The issue I encountered was the power of the suction itself. I was hoping it to be a bit stronger. Our aquarium does not have sand or gravel, so I was sure that it will be much easier to pick up uneaten fish food right off the bottom, but it was not quite the case. The suction is not strong enough and it takes tapping and tapping on the bottom until some food was sucked in. Most of it was just swirling around from the water movement, but was not sucked in by this cleaner.
I will continue searching for something better. This cleaner may be used for a smaller aquarium, if I’ll have one in the future.

  9. Pete

Outlet Hose is too short, does this product have a 10¡¯ hose

  10. Tim Davenport

AQQA syphoned the water out of my 55 gallon fish tank quickly which made it easy to clean the gravel/tank.

  11. Sidera Johns

This is a great siphon. My only complaint is that it is slightly difficult to use. You have to plug it in, which isn’t a problem, but the switch to turn it on/off is way too close to the outlet part of the cord. I find myself desperately trying to reach out to turn it off and then the out take tube comes out of my bucket and there’s suddenly a mess everywhere.

  12. Jennifer Wise

Easy to put together and works great

  13. Linda W.

Just needs more power otherwise a great little gadget!

  14. Ashley

Cleaned out my tank so nice! I needed a big bucket to drain and my water hose to get it done quickly and I’m super happy with this product! First time fish owner in my adult life where I’m the one responsible for the upkeep and this is a great buy! My parents use to go threw so much just to clean the tank that they gave up and got rid of it, but this makes tank cleaning so much easier!

  15. I Love Pets

This works way better than I expected. It fits inside of my 4gal biorb classic. I love the filter bag option for this. It allows you to get all the gunk out with out taking out water. I use the crevice / corner attachment. It will not suck up my tiny chili Rasbora fish. The other attachments could suck up small fish. Except the regular gravel vac one. It only comes with one cloth bag. I wish it had more. I hope I can get replacements.
I have only used this twice, I do not know about longevity.

  16. Karen Vint

Planting our aquarium so can¡¯t use our traditional vacuum on our aquarium anymore. Also have a whale of a plecostomous that ?? non-stop it seems. This is good for cleaning up the top of the gravel and doesn¡¯t overly disturb the plants. I did have to clean the filters mid-vacuum when the tank is really bad. But overall it¡¯s pretty effective. Only negatives are: the bags are not replaceable, had to make one out of fabric cuz we lost ours. The setup with where bag is gets in the way when I try to maneuver around the big decorations. And it doesn¡¯t clean deep in the gravel like a traditional vacuum. So I need to figure something else out. Oh, sometimes the gravel gets around the filters and into the impeller.

But, overall it was a good purchase for maintaining the tank.

  17. Sally J.

Just as described in video. Great.

  18. mrsterlingusa.tumblr

I have a small fountain in my backyard with some goldfish, The water got so cloudy that I couldn’t see the goldfish anymore. I tried bailing the water out and replacing it but that didn’t get to the sediment at the bottom of the fountain. This pump worked perfectly. It pumps the water out from the bottom so you can get the sediment out. I pumped the water into a bucket (I used the water in my garden). I refilled my fountain with a hose as I went. The result is a nice clean fountain with happy goldfish.

  19. Hilario tinoco lucas

    Limpiar pecera

  20. cindy halberg

Section was ok but the size of the filter bag is too small the overall unit is cumbersome and not very well thought out.

  21. Jean Heflin

This was so easy to assemble and use. I really like that it pumps the water out and cleans the gravel at the same time .

  22. Michelle

Just be careful it fills bucket fast h9se cane out of bucket my error lol cleans fast and great

  23. Margaret Carpenter

This is so easy to use & light weight for weak hands. Now I can work on things I needed to.

  24. Brenda jaramillo

    Amazing

  25. Melvin gomez

Me agrad¨® lo f¨¢cil de usar Mi pecera esta limpia y mis pececitos felices

  26. Amazon Customer

Works well and cleans the gravel well.

  27. Michele Eisch

Easy to use. Works just as expected.

  28. Christine

It worked pretty good in my 50 gallon tank. It is a little messy to use but otherwise it was a good purchase

  29. hester taylor

  30. Kevin

A lot more powerful that I thought.

  31. Amazon Customer

Once I got the hang of what this Pump Cleaner could do I figured out the best way to meet my need for my tank. I disconnected the water fountain attachment and directly attached the filter bag. I used the brush attachment at the bottom and stored up the gravel to catch debris after I clean the glass of any algae. Once I didi the whole strata with the brush I just let the pump run to filter out debris afloat in the water. I got a lot of debris adn algae in the bag but the time I turned it off, about 15 minutes. This really helped clear my tank considerably. The bag rinses out pretty good for reuse, I turn it inside out and brush it with a coarse plastic brush to get as much algae and debris out. It weawsily adjusts to any tank depth but might not work in a very small tank.

  32. Sunny

I recommend this to anyone with a larger tank, especially if it¡¯s a taller tank. It makes cleaning my tank a breeze. It¡¯s not so much of a chore anymore.

It does have great suction power and I wouldn¡¯t recommend for a smaller tank.

Assembling was simple. I did have an issue with the drain hose popping off, in the beginning, but that was user error on my part. I needed to elevate the bucket I was using.

  33. Joanne832

This unit has wonderful suction power and I love that it is multi purpose. It has multiple attachments for various kinds of substrate, that interchange easily and it does not terrify my fish.

  34. dillan

Great pump but with the gravel vac attachment it is pretty big. I fill my tank to 14¡± and I have a hard time keeping the pump submerged. Other than that it works as expected and makes water changes pretty easy. Also, if you have some 1/2 ID vinyl tubing laying around you can attach it to the included hose for this pump.

  35. larry

this, come in, handy i have a big long tank so. yeah it works.

  36. Tiffani

    It works perfectly

  37. Scott Cooke

I use this to clean the gravel on 3 tanks and do water changes in 3 tanks and an outdoor stock tank pond. This works very well. When cleaning the gravel it is a slow process with my tanks as they are heavily planted and seem to have a lot of debris that get sucked up. So it can be a slow process. I usually do a small area at a time. I usually don¡¯t reuse dirty tank water. I hook this hose directly to my python hose (perfect.fit ) and run the python to the sink. This way I do a water change and a gravel cleaning at the same time. This pump easily pumps the water 20 foot away into the sink. Yes the filter gets clogged but that is the filter doing a good job. I have used this cleaner pump for a year now using it on 4 tanks weekly to every other week. I am very happy with this purchase.

  38. Kasey

It has alittle to much power for my 30 gallon tank. It will quickly empty half the tank. It works great!!!

  39. L. Auxt

Easy to put together. Love the extra attachments options. Cleaned our fish tank very well. We just had to be careful the return water flow was not at the side of the tank. When not paying attention, can easily flow out all over the floor

  40. Sergio Avalos

  41. Kerri Gibbons

Its good. It¡¯s just a little bulky and heavy. The one issue I had was getting use to not letting the filter sock hand out of the tank you have to pay attention when vacuuming where the water gets filtered back into the tank. When trying to reach different areas of the tank pay extra attention to where the water output is located because if it¡¯s not over the tank and you move it wrong water empties on to the floor not back into the tank. Not a deal breaker but extra attention is required. I like the feature to fill tanks from buckets without having to lift the buckets. I usually use the Phython connected to the sink for this but I do like for a quick fill with having to connect my water changer to the faucet. It¡¯s good for sand cleaning.

  42. Danielle

I seriously have no clue how I owned a fish tank before this this thing. I freaking love it and literally took my tank maintenance to less than half the time before. And it’s not much clean up. Super handy and great to have. Iv had it for almost 2 years now.

  43. Mike

After multiple purchases we finally have a vacuum that sux and cleaning is so easy thank you

  44. Art

    good product

  45. Hollis F Johnson

This is the best one I’ve bought so far. I have a 55 gallon tank and this is the first one that is actually strong enough to clean the bottom of tank.

  46. j lopez

I should have bought this a long long long time ago….love it

  47. Alexandria Siscoe

I love this thing! I just wish I could use it in my 5 gallon tanks. It¡¯s great for my 10 gallon & 20 gallons

  48. LadyFingers

We got this for my sons tank and it has been a life saver. It sucks up the rocks while cleaning and then puts them back as we move to the next spot. My 13 year old uses it on a regular basis on his own to clean the tank so very easy to use. Great quality and works just as good as the first time after using it at least 20 or so times.

  49. Billy Trench

I have used this 3 or 4 times now on my 50 gallon tank and I definitely think its worth the money because it makes water changes and cleanings pretty easy. My only complaint is that the handle is way too long and I have trouble moving it around without knocking into stuff.

  50. cynthia landing

Very easy to use and handle

  51. Dana

it was easy to assemble and its easy to use.

  52. andries engela

    Product works great

  53. HeatherFaye

I LOVE this vacuum! It makes life so much easier! I’m so glad to have this! 100% recommend!

  54. david m.

Since I got this this makes cleaning up fish tank way easier use it on my 55gallon tank and just to clean up the gravel even to pump out water less mess I¡¯m not getting water everywhere I highly recommend

  55. dan mitchell

This item though seemingly cheaply made does a tolerable job. A lot of attachment come with the basic pump. They are very easy to change and everything is easy to clean. Have only used it a couple of times but it sure beats the manual siphon tube and hose. It will suck up some gravel with the dirt so the pre filter needs to be in place all the time to protect the pump. Like it so far. Worth the money.

  56. Jm

I used this on A10 gallon tank and it will work as long as the motor stays submerged. I cleaned the tank with the sock thing and it left the water foggy. I’m the future I might just go out the traditional way and dump it in to the bucket and refill from there

  57. Charity Collins

This was easy to put together and use. I’m really short and I did still have to use a chair. Lol This made cleaning and changing out the water quick and painless and I’m so grateful. My fish didn’t seem to mind either.

  58. BRAD HOLMES

It make cleaning the fish tank much easier

  59. Thomas

I received my first one with shipping and no issues When I went to use it everything worked great the second time that I used it apparently in the 100 gallon backyard pond that I have I had used it for a long enough period of time for the motor to get hot And the plastic had melted and gotten away blocking the propeller I the seller they sent me a replacement free of charge excellent seller I do believe it is a good vacuum just don’t use it for too long of a period of time and again very happy with the seller maybe mine just had an issue in the motor got too hot The second one has not done the same thing yet I will update if anything changes

  60. Edith Perez

Es muy r¨¢pido para sacar el agua del acuario con esta bomba

  61. SHERI MAZOUR

Works great on my 13 gallon tank. Did need to look up a video to use it. Making cleaning and emptying tank so easy

  62. Larry S. Lawrence

Has attachments that fulfill most of my tank cleaning meeds. Would be nice if it had a little bigger filter bag.

  63. MN Mama

I have had a large aquarium for about 8 years and tried several different suction devices. This one is the best by far.

  64. Mary

The ease of cleaning my aquarium just rose to the level of “a snap”.
    It is quite efficient.

  65. Hayley

The intake sponge is a bit hard to get to when you need to clear a clog, but some long tweezers do the job. It’s certainly less annoying than dealing with a clog further inside. Not unexpected so it doesn’t take away from the product for me, just something to be aware of.

Overall this has good suction and does the job pretty well, especially for something on the cheaper end of these types of products. I have both sand and small gravel and it works just fine on both, and doesn’t bother the fish.

  66. Angela

This is amazing! I have never cleaned a tank faster. I would be wary of using this in a heavily planted tank or any nano tanks because of how fast it is

  67. Kimberly R. Tavano

    Great unit works awesome

  68. Carl Winterle III

Did a great job vacuuming the fish tank. If your using a bucket for the water to go in for a water change. Stay alert because it fills up fast

  69. Matthew

    Works great

  70. George Jr

Have used once to clean substrate and dead leaves from plants. Did a great job with no mess!

  71. Bridgette Anthony Reese

This tool is amzaing! It cleans the tank so quickly!

  72. PiperGirl

This aquarium electric vacuum does a great job. It comes with a lot of attachments and a decent size drainage tube. The drainage tube seems to be a little thin but I’am not concerned. It is a little hard to maneuver it in a smaller tank, but with practice it did well. I did have to go on YouTube to find a video on how to use and assemble it. The directions where not clear enough for me. That is the only reason I did not give it a 5 Star Rating. I highly recommend this product. A must have to clean your tank!

  73. Amazon Customer

    WORKS GOOD

  74. annie

this was a dream come true till it was too tall for my tank, just what I wanted, something to suck the water and clean it but not drain it from the tank. If they had a smaller version I would jump at the chance to get it. this thing cleans great and fast but only for a bigger tank. I did use it but water was everywhere and it was hard to keep the pump under water.

  75. Kylie

very nice when needing to drain the tank. except when the water gets low it¡¯s stops draining. around 2 inches

  76. Robin I.

I had an issue with my main impeller unit and AQQA looked after me right away, kudos for great customer service. As for the kit itself, I like to use the vacuum function because if I suction and drain at the same time (using a non motorized unit), the water will be gone before the tank is clean. This way, I can clean the tank and change the water separately!

  77. John Richardson

Arrived as advertised and pictured. Through trial and error I figured out most of the stuff in the box. (Packed well, padded nicely) I would say an experienced aquarium owner would be fine, rather mind boggling for a novice.

  78. Kindle Customer

A Must have for aquarium enthusiasts! Easy to use and saves a lot of time on cleaning a fish tank

  79. Neil Prasad

It okay but better then my hand pump cleaner I had. Cleaned my tank yesterday with it. The water pipe didn’t come with a clip to secure in the bucket. Had to put bucket handle over it to avoid spill. Suction on gravel substrate is so so.

  80. 4zombie20

Their customer service was really good so if you ever have any problems, they are more than happy to assist you with refunds or replacements, but the biggest reason I am leaving this review is to let you know that the hose for it pops off constantly you need to buy a hose clamp like the one in the picture I included with this review. If you want to make it actually stay in place. Also, the only other problem is that for some reason they made it that the actual suction pump has little holes on the side of it so if it¡¯s not fully submerged, it will suck in air and not really clean the tank all the way so if you¡¯re trying to use it to drain a tank you¡¯re going to have about 4in or so of water left in the tank which can be slightly annoying but if you simply get some water resistant duck tape or water, safe silicone sealant, and cover the cracks and holes on the side of it. It will be able to get most of the water out of the fish tank. Just a FYI I don¡¯t 100% know if covering the holes on the side of it will hurt the pump. just an idea to help it get all the water out. I hope this helps

  81. Autumn Pendergrass

Best thing I’ve bought all year long!

  82. David Sonnier

The device works well, however the output hose is not very long and comes of the motor easily. Several spills when hose came off as water is ejected upward from the pump. If the hose could be attached better and fastened securely, this pump would be great. It is a real time saver unless you have to clean a spill.

  83. Kitty

I love this best purchase for a aquarium!! Cleans my 10 fish stuff instantly

  84. Judy

Does great on gravel or sand!

  85. Ariel P.

This makes cleaning my aquarium a breeze. Powerful pump to drain water. The accessories are very useful in vacuuming out the bottom of the aquarium. Overall, a very good and well made product for hobbyist.

  86. Lynne Gallagher

The directions weren’t very clear, but had to watch the videos to figure it out.

  87. David Moser

A good value for the price!

  88. Pizzle

This works great. I have a small 10 gallon. I wouldn’t recommend this for a tank this small. Maybe 20 gallons on up. It works well though. Several attachments for different types of cleaning. My only improvement would be to add another water OUTLET attachment we could use to direct the outflow in a different pattern, like a wide flow or concentrated stream of water. That’s my opinion though. They deliver as advertise and that’s important.

  89. Sofiyah

Definitely makes cleaning the fish tank super easy ! It sucks the water out quickly and replaces it . it¡¯s so easy . Definitely a time saver

  90. Ross Hebert

The collection net could be bigger.

  91. matt

Really wanted something to clean tank without dumping the water. This works great! Didn’t even need the directions to put together, simple and straightforward.

Only thing I would recommend is the on/off switch to actually show ON and OFF.

For anyone reading OFF is the switch down on the outlet side.

  92. salvatore orlando

This is great product! the only neg is the user it is not clear. This best YouTube vid for putting this product together is by Connor Scrucek. He does an excellent job explaining while giving you visual. Highly recommend watching it.

  93. Mr fish

The cleaner works perfect to Remove and add water the vacuum works and then stop once sand goes into it and its the same when sucking out water .

  94. Christal Valladares

This thing really helps when you have to do a 10% water change every week on a 60 gallon tank. You must get it totally worth it!

  95. AM84

Made cleaning mysons turtle tank so much easier.

  96. Kirby

I have a 30 gallon tank sitting on top of a dresser. This thing sucks up water really fast but the tube (for removing the water) is really short and doesn’t reach the bucket I’m disposing the old water in. Haven’t tested all the features yet and I’m really excited to.

  97. windy williams

Loved being able to do a quick water change.

  98. Garry Cordell

It has better suction than the battery operated ones
The on and off switch could have been a little bit closer to the handle
    Attachments work well
Bigger stuff does get caught in filter in the clear glass attachment
    Overall does a good job
Good support service I was able to get a new one under warranty when my old one stopped working I thank them very much for all they did for me I would recommend this item to everyone who needs aquarium cleaning products

  99. robert hawkins

This little aquarium pumps performance is amazing! This devices makes water changes accessory cleaning a breeze. While singing the device it¡¯s strong and my new favorite cleaning tool!

  100. Thomas

As advertised. Good quality. Works great

  101. brendagal

I¡¯ve used this twice to vacuum the gravel in my aquarium. I haven¡¯t used any of the other attachments yet, but it works good.

  102. Mireya

Este producto es bueno puedes limpiar toda tu pecera

  103. Jon

Very easy to use just a little big for my 29 gallon

  104. Sucre

**Updated** even though I had my return time pass, the seller sent me a replacement for my faulty tank cleaner. I have now tested it in all 3 of my tanks and its working fantastic! I will update with video or pictures later after some time passes.

Bought this 3 mo ago and have only used this only a handful of times since I have others I use with more ease. The stick is really long and the base doesn’t allow for full function. The motor gives out and it stops suctioning as much, literally slow, too slow to remove any debris. Purchase something else, this item just isn’t good enough for the money. Manual one would of been better and I could of had more than a couple for the price of this item.

  105. Great product

I will admit it was a little difficult to operate at first. Now, It’s great !!!

  106. Wanda Day

We got this to help with a over run of snails that came in on live plants. Had to modify it a little by cutting out the grate but it worked perfectly once we did. Cleans the rocks on bottom of tank wonderful. Easy to put together and use. Lots of neat attachments.

  107. Ann Swanson

I have a 20-gallon tank. This pump made it much easier to clean my tank than with a manual suction hose. However, there are many pieces that it’s not clear how best to use them. I just used this item recently, so I think I’m still on a learning curve with it. Overall, I like it. I think it’s worth the money.

  108. ws in dallas

I connected the shower outlet to the hose with a short piece of hose and clip on the side of tank with the filter bag inside my tank. I can vaccum the water and it recycles back into the tank through the filter bag. The bag captures all the nasty stuff. Then I move the shower to a bucket to remove as much water as needed and I have freedom of movement without worrying about showering my floor. Works even on my 10gal. tank.

  109. SherwinL.Crowell

    Easy and efficient

  110. Krystal Bartlett

This works well but seems like it could break easily!

  111. Jennifer Vargas

Makes cleaning tank so easy. I should have bought this a long time ago

  112. Kay

It siphoned the water very fast. I have a 60 gal tank. I have tried 3 different pumps. This one is it! My huge turtle loves the pressure controlled shower. I leave the unit in all the time, for its many functions. Thanks you for a great product!

  113. Santiago Giraldo Castro

Lleg¨® en buenas condiciones y muy r¨¢pido, f¨¢cil de ensamblar

  114. Brian

Bought this a few months ago, and it does work awesome. However, I’ve got a 10 gallon tank, and this thing is huge, I’d recommend not using it on a 10 gallon tank.

  115. Antwanette

Just looking at this, it does not appear to have any power. It has great suction and is very easy to use. I bought this for my 30, but I used it on my 10. This cut the clean up time in 1/2

  116. Warren j Hunter

Totally delivers, needed this year’s ago.

  117. MzAngie

I love the attachments and how easy it is to use. It made cleaning the tank not such a task.

The AQQA Aquarium Gravel Cleaner has become an indispensable tool in maintaining the cleanliness and health of my aquatic habitat. This review highlights my positive experience with this efficient and user-friendly gravel cleaner that has elevated my aquarium maintenance routine to new heights.

    Efficient Gravel Cleaning:
The standout feature of the AQQA Aquarium Gravel Cleaner is its efficient cleaning mechanism. Works just as expected. I saw some complaints about setting it up but it was pretty basic and easy. Not sure what the complaint could be. Over all satisfied with my purchase.

Made my job easier I love it!

Is was to big to use in my 5 gallon tank.
    Returning was very easy.
I would highly recommend this company and product for larger tanks.

Keep in mind the price. MOST pumps of this kind are not designed to just EAT substrate and solid debris. I will say that I have had this for two years and other than when I just absolutely FEED sand into it, the hosed connector does wonders. I don’t use the other attachments designed to return water and only filter out debris. I use the pump as a poop siphon and a water change siphon. I am NOT a paid reviewer and I don’t often leave long reviews on products unless I love them. This thing’s output (as a siphon with the motor runing) slighly outperforms my 850gph pump I use to pump my waste water outcof the house. And I BEAT THIS THING UP. I will buy another just for when this breaks one day, likely from my abuse of it.

Instructions are not great but a little creative thinking and you’ll figure out how to use this and take full advantage of its features. Plastic is brittle and will break easily if not handled carefully. I made my own filter bag to go over the outlet so I could clean gravel without a water change. The included filter “sock” is just too small to hold much dirt. There is a sponge preinstalled in the shower head that seems useless so you can remove it by twisting off the knurled part counterclockwise. Instructions don’t mention this. Also the tubes to the shower head can be removed to customize the length. The clear plastic attachment also can be separated to remove the sponge. To take full advantage of this item, you have to be willing and able to tinker.

I’ve gone through so many devices, but this one is a keeper.

    – It’s very well built
    – The design and attachments make it very useful
    – The suction is great.
    – The price is very reasonable

    how I use it:
    – I use it to clean/filter the bottom substrate
    – It makes both removing water from the tank and filling the tank very simple and fast

I’m very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend!

Have been using the cleaner for almost a year when one of the parts broke (totally my fault). Was looking for a replacement part, unfortunately with no luck. Emailed AQQA for advise where to buy the broken part and they suggested to ship it to me for free, all I had to pay is $8 for shipping from China. When I received the part a couple of weeks later, I discovered it did not fit. So I was back to square one. Emailed the manufacturer again, and the next thing I know- they shipped me a whole new set! So happy with their support! My aquarium is clean again. Thank you, AQQA, great customer service!

After 2 years this vacuum is still working with no mechanical problems. I am now shopping for a second vacuum and would buy this again but it is very strong and will suction out 25-30% of the water in a 13 gallon aquarium too quickly. It will reduce the water level by 25% before I can remove all the debris on the floor of the aquarium. To completely clean the tank it ends up removing about 30-35% of the water, sometimes 50%. For this reason I am looking for vacuum that has speed control that reduces suction power. I have had none of the problems I see others writing about. It is really a good vacuum, just a little too powerful for my needs.

  137. Beatriz Bobe

Got it very fast can’t wait to use it.

  138. C JACOBS

Would recommend! Wish the plastic was a little higher quality. Buy it drained, cleaned and refilled my tanke perfectly! I have no sinks in which to use a python vaccume, so this alternative is great!

  139. Love it

It really clean my sink fish

  140. Placeholder

I have too many baby fish they would get sucked up in this filter

Products is made of thin cheap plastics but it works pretty well and easy to assembled. The vacuum is strong. I was able to vacuum sand into an empty bucket. I have bought a similar cheap products that will not vacuum water because the outlet is at the top of the handle which made it impossible to vacuum the sand. Those cheap item also does not have good vacuum power to pull out the waste in substrate. This product only need the motor in the water which will work with most aquarium tank. Not sure on long term use but so far it works pretty well.

  142. Amazon Customer

Great deal, excellent product, very good value. Very strong, cleans great. Received product in just two days, outstanding.

  143. Monica

This thing takes the work out of cleaning tank with gravel out without. The drawback is small tanks it takes a gallon out pretty quickly so you cannot dilly dally once you start. Turning power off to motor does not help much once the flow has started it will continue to syphon until the pump comes far enough out of the water to stop that. The catch bag works but not for fine stuff from gravel that will completely cloud the tank.

  144. Sarah

    This vacuum is amazing
Very easy to use all you have to do it put the pieces together and it works well
Cleaned like a charm takes some time but it works well
Long enough for a 75 gallon tank
    It’s not sticky

  145. Jen

After reading reviews I was hesitant. Then I tried this out. I love this.
So much easier than I thought. The directions are not that great but a little common sense putting it together and it works great.
I love the concept of filtering the water through the bag and putting the clean water back in the tank unless you are dealing with a water change. A larger filter bag would be nice but stopping just to clean it out is fine for me.
None of the pieces have broke…just using a gentle hand and not forcing any of the pieces seems to work for me.

  146. Dennis Hasenfus

Cleaner is nice unit (BUT) the cleaner intakes and outlets are too small of openings for any amount of large fish sediments. Was a simple fix to set it up for my Oscar tank, took my dremel and opened up the ports. Added little bigger filter bag and away it went!! Cleans like a champ now, and don;t worry about the power of the pump motor, it’s great even for the bigger stuff on the bottom of your tank. I recommend this cleaner with a few simple mods depending on your tank needs.

  147. Northguy

This works well, but is very bulky. Fortunately the handle telescopes which is handy. Since it is so bulky, I wouldn¡¯t recommend this for anything smaller than a 20 gallon tank with a full open top. I used it in a 10 gallon tank and it worked fine but was a little difficult to maneuver. However, the tank size had nothing to do with my rating. The reason I knocked it down a star was I thought for its size it would have more suction. Suction was good, but not ans good ans expected. The vacuum also leaked water out of many of its joints meaning you had to be careful not to leak water outside the tank. Compared to the prices of other electric vacuums, despite its faults, this is a good buy.

  148. Amazon Customer

didn’t clean my frog tank that well

  149. Smack

Makes cleaning the gravel and water changes easy. 5 gallon fish tank is probably the smallest it could fit in. I definitely recommend it.
