This is an aquarium glass cleaner. Included are the two halves of the cleaner unit, a plastic blade for acrylic or plastic tanks, a stainless-steel blade for glass tanks, instructions, and a cardboard divider card that you probably want to keep. In my many years of aquarium experience, these magnetic cleaners are really handy and do a good job without the hassle and mess associated with scrapers that are pole mounted.
I have a glass aquarium, so I only tested the stainless-steel blade. The blade was easy to install. The included instructions let you know which way to mount the blade to avoid it being difficult to remove later. Once the blade was installed and the unit rinsed in clean water, I was ready to go. There was a line of mineral deposits towards the bottom of my tank. This cleaner scraped them off in no time with not too many passes back and forth.
The inside-the-tank unit in the product I received does not float as the product description claims. I was surprised when I pulled the outside unit away and the inside unit started to slowly sink. I was able to quickly stop it with the magnets of the outside unit which worked well. It is really easy to slide the unit to the top edge, grab the inside part and separate the two without worrying that it may sink, so it really isn’t a problem other than it is purported to float and doesn’t.
I have a different model of the same brand. It is an extra-large size and I like it more. It is easily worth the (at the time of this writing) $2 more if you have thick glass in your aquarium. It is larger and the magnets are stronger, thus it scrapes the inside of the tank with even less effort. And the inside unit of that model does float.

This cleaner works wonders! It is super high quality and magnetism. It came with two options for a scraper, I used the metal one. I posted before and after pictures of the cleaning I did to the front glass on my frog tank. It was super easy to put together and put on the tank. I was shocked to find that it stay together even as you move it over corners!! It did a great job getting tricky algae off. I got the big one and I would recommend it for fast cleaning! Shipping was fast, it was well packaged, and it did a fantastic job! Price is high but matches the high quality, I would not waste your money on cheap ones that don¡¯t do the job. I have had aquariums for over 40 years. I have never had such an efficient algae removal system as the AQQA magnetic glass cleaner. The thought that you can clean aquarium glass from the outside is a fantastic idea. The placement of the water side scrubber is simple, just place it near the waterline and then place the magnet near the waterside scrubber and the magic begins. The two separate pieces center themselves together effortlessly and tremendously secure. Just move the handle outside of the aquarium to scrub the algae off. This thing works GREAT! i wish i knew of this product years ago. I very highly recommend this product. Somehow it evens makes 90* turns so you can clean all sides of the tank without even getting your hand wet. Cleaning the tank is so simple.
Learn from my mistake: do NOT let the two magnets get too close together without a piece of glass between them. Seriously. These magnets will stick together so hard it’ll take three grown men, a German shepherd and a chisel to pull them apart. And don’t get your fingers caught between them either for the same reason. That said, I love this aquarium cleaner. I love the scrubby scrubber, I love the cleaning blade and how easy and safer it is to install the blade, I love that the inside cleaner floats, and I love how easy it is to move from wall to wall. I leave it in back of my tank and it’s so convenient to give the tank a quick wipe every other day or so. Perfect way to maintain a nice clean aquarium!
I have a 125 gallon tank, and was hoping this would work on the somewhat thicker glass – I had no reason to worry. These magnets are STRONG. I cleaned the outside of the tank, put the blade on this, put it inside the lip of the tank just under the water line, slid the outside piece over it, and it was NOTTTTTT letting go. Worked really well. I have one short side that likes to try to start an algae crop every so often, maybe it gets a different light than the rest of the tank from some source I can’t figure out, maybe the water flow is different there although I’ve changed the filters, air wands, and outputs to several different locations, etc. Anyway, the blade did a really great job of clearing the latest attempt. I literally had to hold the inside piece and push the outside piece back off of it to get the magnets to release, and that’s though pretty thick glass. No worries about the inside dropping off with this one, at least on my tank.
