It took a few minutes to realize after unpacking this that there were two sponge filters jammed on there, so be sure to separate them! It also doesn’t come with a tube or air pump, so those will need to be purchased separately of course. I did not realize this at the time, as I’m a newbie with aquarium set-up. Once working it does keep quiet, thankfully, and it was easy to install once I had the other components, but I am concerned about the replacement of the sponges once they are beyond repair. Also, if you have a smaller tank it does take up some space, so keep that in mind. I’d relegate it to a 10 gallon or more, any less and it takes up valuable real estate for your fish pals. It feels a little flimsy before installing it, but so far so good. Will update if anything out of the ordinary happens or it fails before a reasonable amount of time.
I have a 25g tank and I only left one sponge since it comes with two. Wow it collects a lot of dirt also super easy to install. It cleared my water by next day since it was a lil cloudy. I will buy again!

I’m using this filter along with a regular filter and the noise level is very low. I was having trouble with nitrates in the water and this filter is helping to keep it under control. Definitely wish I had heard about this type of filter sooner!
I thought this was ugly but I realized the extra filter is on top the other one!!!
Once take it out it looks great and even works better!!! And¡. Drumroll please it¡¯s completely quiet!
