I’ve been using this for about two months now in combination with a HOB filter. I have goldfish and theyre quite dirty so wanted extra filtering. This has been great. I love how you can modify the filter material as a variety of filter materials is essential. My water was clear before but now it’s crystal clear. I also love the “waterfall” feature. Great for adding extra oxygen in the tank! Love this and highly recommend it, great quality
I have this in a tank that’s probably a tad too big for its stated capacity. Despite this, it does an admirable job keeping my tank clean. It moves plenty of water as well, creating a nice current to keep the tank moving. The assembly was easy, though I didn’t find the instructions to be particularly clear. I suppose that might be my one complaint. Since I’d researched this type of filter pretty thoroughly before I ordered it I knew how it needed to be assembled. Had I not done that, it would have been quite a bit more difficult.
I do wish it came with proper plug instead of a usb end, but I suppose most of us have a spare power brick lying around so it wasn’t a total hassle.
All in all I’m happy with this filter, and my fish seem to be, too!
Five out of five stars
Excellent filter, works great and you can see the biomedia spinning around in the filter which is a nice effect but also lets you know visible when your filter needs cleaning.
Setup was super easy and the filter is virtually silent, which is great! It also fits in a back corner and doesn’t take up a lot of valuable space in your aquarium. Output flow is good and it moves the water well.
There are several options for the output flow, such as a spray bar or a nozzle. Both work great.
Overall 5 stars. These types of filter are very good especially for smaller tanks 20g and less.
Thank you and I hope this was helpful.
easy to assemble and has good pressure. so far so good.
I had to watch the video to assemble everything properly initially, but overall it went together easily. We just upgraded from a 10gal starter aquarium (HOB and everything included) to a 20gal and needed a second filter. I understand internal filters do not offer as robust filtration as a HOB or Canister filter, but I have this paired with a sponge filter for optimal cleaning. This filter is nice and quiet and does not create a lot of splashing. I have the intake set from the sides instead of the bottom, as I didn’t want the suction to cause any of my long-finned fish to get sucked up. So far we have had no issues of that sort.
I also like the ability to change out the water return. While our guppies love to swim in the current, we have other fish that are not strong swimmers and do not like strong currents. We are able to customize to suit the needs of our ecosystem at any given time.
I am a little concerned about the durability of the clips that hold each section of the filter together. I can see them getting worn easily. But time will tell.
