Information about AQQA Aquarium Heater with Intelligent External Controller
Keep your aquarium’s water temperature stable and safe with this high-tech heater. It offers rapid heating and advanced safety features, making it a reliable choice for any aquarist.
Rapid Heating
The aquarium heater uses a chrome-nickel heating wire that raises the water to temperature quickly and safely. When the water temperature is detected to be 2°F/2°C below the set temperature, it will automatically heat up until it reaches the set temperature. For high-power heaters, please purchase according to the recommended tank size.
Dry Burning-resistant Protection
When the heater probe detects that the water surface is 1 inch below the top, it automatically cuts off and resumes when it is fully submerged in the water. The probe is on the top of the heater, so please place the heater correctly.
Overtemperature Protection
When the water temperature is higher than the set temperature by more than 3°F/3°C, the power will turn off, and heating will stop. When the water temperature is less than 3°F/3°C higher than the set temperature, the high-temperature alarm will be released.
Energy-saving
The temperature control is accurate to ±1°C, which saves up to 20% energy compared to conventional fish tank heaters. You can long-press the SET button to convert between Fahrenheit and Celsius.
Precautions For Use
Please disassemble and check that the quartz glass tube is not cracked before use. Do not bury the heater. It must be used with a water circulation system, such as a wavemaker or filter. Please disassemble and clean the heater every 1-2 weeks.
Set temperature is 59°F – 93°F (15°C – 34°C).
Press the button once to increase by 1°F or 1°C. When the highest set temperature of 93°F or 34°C is reached, pressing again will reback to the lowest set temperature.
Safety protection with automatic power cut-off
Out of water power off : the heater is detected to 1inch away from the water surface, automatically cut off power. To resume, fully submerge it back into the water.
Overtemperature protection: Setting temperature more than 3℉ above water temperature to activate, Difference less than 3℉ recovery.
Exquisite craftsmanship and solid materials
Guartz glass: Made with thickened genuine quartz glass for rapid heat dissipation and enhanced safety against explosions.
Suction cup: Equipped with 2 suction cups, it can adhere to any corner of the glass.
Dual temperature probes: Real-time water temperature monitoring for precision and reliability.
Safety precautions for use

Nice heater. I ordered the 300 watt version. Glass portion of heater is covered to protect from very aggressive fish or turtles. Good functionality, I really like the dry burn protection, it cuts power if the water level drops below an inch above the top of the heater. It also has overheat protection. It’s pretty simple to set right off the heater controls. It has a nice size, it’s a lot shorter than my old heater of the same wattage. It seems like a good value for the money. I can’t test the durability as I haven’t used it for a very long time thus far.
I’ve been using the 500W version of this heater for a while now on one of my larger tanks, and it has done a great job holding temps steady when paired with my Inkbird. So when this 1200W model showed up, I grabbed it for future use on one of my bigger systems or an outdoor setup.
Build quality feels the same as my smaller one. Thick quartz tubes, solid housing, and the same familiar controller setup. I don’t use the included controller since I run all my heaters through Inkbirds, but the connections and layout are the same as the 500W and that unit hasn’t given me any trouble.
Just like the smaller version, this thing puts out heat fast. If you’re running large tanks, heated ponds, or setups in a colder area, this is the type of wattage you want in your back pocket. It’s definitely overkill for most indoor aquariums unless you’re running something 200 gallons or more, but that’s exactly what it’s built for.
Haven’t decided exactly where I’m going to put it yet, but based on my experience with the smaller one I’m confident it’ll do the job. For big tanks or outdoor systems, this is a keeper.
First impressions: Just handling it I could feel how solidly constructed the heating element is. Very nice quality metal housing.
What I like about this heater:
• ruggedized and well constructed
• Heater works quickly
And, what I like the most-
• The thermostat controls. The buttons have a nice tactile feel to them. Every button has a positive response despite it being waterproof and covered with a protective plastic.
What I didn’t like:
Heater is not maintenance-free.
I did not realize until I read the instruction manual but this does require some maintenance. The heater requires periodic cleaning to remove scaling from building up on the heating element. According to the instructions minerals from the water will build up on the heating element will have to be removed by hand. There is no self cleaning function.
Despite having to occasionally clean this, this either performance really well and almost seems overpowered for my size tank. Fortunately you can lower the power setting to accommodate smaller sized aquarium tanks. Also, when you lower the heat setting it also lowers the operating wattage and this lowers the electrical consumption which is a nice bonus.
Final thoughts: At the time of writing this review, there is a coupon discounting the price making it in even better deal. I would have recommended this heater at its original price but given its current discount, it is an even better deal.
This heater works great! It keeps the tank temperature stable and accurate. The digital controller is easy to use, and I love the clear display. It heats quickly and shuts off automatically for safety. Perfect for large aquariums, my fish are thriving!
The AQQA 1300W aquarium heater is seriously powerful and clearly built for larger setups. The dual quartz tubes make it heat up quickly and evenly, and the external controller makes adjusting temperature a lot easier than reaching into the water. It holds a steady temp without wide swings, which is impressive for such a big heater. I like the digital readout and the safety features — it shuts off automatically if the water level drops. The build feels solid and professional, not flimsy like cheaper models. It’s definitely oversized for smaller tanks, but if you’ve got a big setup and want reliable, consistent heat, this one delivers.
