AQQA isn’t one of the product lines I care for so far, it tends to underperform and/or not last very long. That said, this may not be so disappointing, heaters aren’t overly complex devices. The size of this one will keep it in the bigger volume tanks – 100 gallon or more, so I’ve shelved it for the time being. By the time there is a bubbler, filter pump and then a heater, it doesn’t take long to lose a noticeable amount of tank space for the fish. 60 bucks isn’t an expensive price for a unit with these capacities, just depends on how long it lasts, and/or gets gunked up enough to need cleaned.
Heaters are tricky, they work great until they don’t, but so far so good with this one.
Got this for the new fish tank we just got, and its working great so far! totally recommend if you have a tank. I have a 55 gallon tank.
Amazon Vine sent me this AQQA aquarium heater which I installed without any problem and my 55 gallon guppy breeding tank which I like to keep between 80 and 82¡ã to help promote the breeding process, and keeping a high temperature seems to be a recipe for success in this tank so far, so I installed this heater and the digital LED readout was easy to read and more importantly completely accurate to .1¡ãF, both before heating and after one day of the heater running! It’s a very sturdy build and the cord length and gauge are excellent and give you confidence especially since heaters are notorious for not being built very well– but this AQQA heater is definitely the real deal. Despite a fairly high flow rate because the tank is very heavily planted, I did not notice any problems with the heater keeping up with the flow rate which I have increased because of the heavy amount of plant material and water column plants. Overall the superb heater which is easy to install, set to a pretty high temperature and hopefully will last a long time with good quality components.
