Installation Tips
If you place the air pump below the water surface, you’ll need to install a check valve. The check valve has an arrow; ensure the arrow points towards the air stone, and the other end connects to the pump. This prevents water from flowing back into the pump.

I had to buy a filter that needed an external pump and I also wanted to run an airstone. This pump works great for both. It’s strong and very quiet, unlike the last pump I had. I have only had it about a month so far so I can’t speak to its longevity but so far, so good.
This is absolutely perfect for my aquarium.
The size of this air pump is larger than I was expecting based on the pictures. I ordered the one for 40 gal below and its 4 times the size of the air pumps I’m currently using for my 29 gallon fish tank. I don’t have room for this. It is very quiet though and could probably replace my two existing air pumps and still have capacity for supplying air to two more stones but its just too big for my setup. I like that you can adjust the power as well so you can get the right amount of aeration and agitation in your tank. The 6W comes with everything you need including air lines, check valves, tees, and stones.
I got this air pump as a back up. I have two 10 gallon tanks and one 20 gallon. It has 2 ports for hose. It has a knob to turn the air to the strength you want. It comes with two air stones, tubing, check valves and splitters. It all seems to be quality. I’m disappointed with the hosing. I get so frustrated because the hosing is all kinked and doesn’t allow air through like its supposed to.
