  1. The 30W model wasn’t quite powerful enough to quickly drain a backyard catch basin. I upgraded to the 40W. It’s only a temporary fix, but price was awesome and gets the job done! I didn’t want to spend more than $20. I believe I got more than my money’s worth. Will update on longevity.

  2. I have been using this pump in my bird bath water fountain and it¡¯s been working great. Does its job, it is a bit noisy when the water gets too low¡it continues to run.

  3. It works as I would expect it to, so won’t dive into that. As a pump, it’s perfectly fine and I’d give it 5 stars except I wish it had an auto shutoff when pumping dry. It has an auto shutoff when overheating to around 85 degrees F or so, but I found it to run for quite some time dry. Was it 85F? I guess not but still not preferred for my use case as that would be quite often. Plus when it cools down, I expect it would start back up.

I bought to assist with aquarium water changes so would only use it every few days at most. For convenience, I’d like to keep it plugged in rather than unplug, wrap up, or have the cord dangle somewhere. Not a huge deal but I do have a smaller aquarium pump that does shut off, but was hoping to buy one with a bit more flow. Again, this is perfectly fine but I would prefer a dry running auto-shutoff vs temperature based.

  5. I¡¯d originally gotten the 6 watt to help with my water changes but I¡¯d underestimated just how tall my tanks are. ?? now I¡¯m excited to have the 15 w. I have a bad back so I can¡¯t be hauling buckets and lifting them up to dump into my tank. My experience with the 6w was absolutely stellar. Very quiet, also very compact. Flow rate was perfect. Overall very happy even though I¡¯ve only used it for a few days. Heck, for all the work it¡¯s saving me, I think it¡¯s a great value even if it doesn¡¯t last forever (which it seems very well made and sturdy so I¡¯m hoping it¡¯ll last me for at least a year or two)
