  1. Everything about this filter is easy, easy to use, easy to clean, you get four sponges plus media, I haven’t used the media provided as my old filter used media and I used that, full of lovely bacteria, don’t want to waste that.
It has a gentle flow, but still provides movement all around my 120liter aquarium, with regular water changes and a low stocked aquarium this filter should be all I need, you my need a powerful filter if you over stock your aquarium.
As far as noise goes when I first started using the filter it was making a low rattling sound, I later realised the sound was caused by trapped air in the sponges, after the air cleared it’s as quiet as a mouse, every time I go by the aquarium I double check that its still working it’s so quiet,
Up to now there’s no negative comments about this filter.
Perfect for fish that don’t need strong flow and for a bedroom aquarium.

  2. I like the look of it and running without an air pump makes it super silent. However, the power cable is fairly short at 1.3 m long, so it can be problematic when said cable runs from inside the tank, over the rim, through the lid hole, and down to the power socket… The cable on mine was very taut so that might be why it broke but when I turned it off after 2 months of running, it never turned back on again…

  3. I just brought my goldfish in for the winter from the pond. They have grown immensely meaning that there was no room for their usual sponge filter. This one is more compact and sticks to the glass . It’s brilliant, well worth the money and very efficient. This was a great find and I highly recommend.

  4. Great filter, I have a second hand tank and have lost count of how many fish are in this 60l hydroponic setup (maybe 40? tetras, rasbora’s Shrimp, loaches etc). I had to change filters quite often as it was settling in but now maybe once every 3 months. No fatalities for a couple of months at least.
I have the outlet flowing onto substate and slate on the lid of the tank and it all drains through after feeding the multiple plants I’ve found to grow there. This filter is the heart of this ecosystem.
